16 Years at Pryor for Matt Dalton

Matt Dalton has been here at Pryor for 16 years and we sat down to ask him a few questions about his time here at Pryor.

What’s your role in the company?

My current role is as Service Team Leader.  As a team we support the Pryor customer base, in the main Install, Train, Service, Repair.  It’s a varied and interesting department.

What was your first job role within Manufacturing?

My First job was here at Pryor. I started at Pryor running the markers marking customers components. I was a barman and student before! Pryor put my through a degree course and the rest is history!

How did you find these last 16 years in Pryor?

Covid was a big challenge, when working on the road and also at customers sites, Covid caused us some real headaches, the more recent past has been busy as business picks up again. It’s hectic but enjoyable!

What do you enjoy the most about working in Manufacturing/Engineering?

In my role I enjoy visiting customer sites, we meet some great people and get to learn about new technologies or advancements in older technologies.

Do you have any hobbies outside work?

Many! Far too many to list, I will play any sport, fishing, football, golf the top of the list though.

If you had to give one piece of advice to people seeking jobs in manufacturing, what would it be?

Listen to your elders! They’ve been there and done it, their advice is crucial.

What’s your favourite food?

Italian, I’ve been lucky enough to work in Italy a number of times and it’s always a treat to sample the local Italian cuisine.
