The CEO of Pryor, John Tissiman, has been elected as Master
Cutler for 2004-05. The Company of Cutlers in Hallamshire is an institution
dating back to the early 17th century, and emphasises the
great importance, over all those years, of the cutlery industry
to the economy of Sheffield and its surrounding districts.
John is the 366th Master Cutler, and attends many important
functions around the UK and occasionally overseas, representing
the cutlery industry and its suppliers in particular and
Sheffield industry in general. |

The Master Cutler’s term of office is for one year only,
from October to October, and an individual cannot be re-elected
to the post. John’s appointment reflects great credit on
him personally and also shows the respect that local industrialists
have for Edward Pryor & Son, a Company that has been in the
product identification business for more than 150 years.
From time to time, articles concerning Mr Tissiman’s official
activities and extracts from his speeches, appear in the local
and national press, and when relevant, these will be posted on
this site.
