New global solution for marking and vision

The directors of Edward Pryor & Son Ltd (Pryor), a global industrial marking equipment supplier, are pleased to announce the group’s acquisition of Absolute Vision Ltd, a specialist developer of two-dimensional (2D) code reading and machine vision solutions.

The two companies will continue trading as separate entities but will be able to draw on each other’s technical experience in these two complementary product areas. Absolute Vision will promote its world-class product range autonomously to all its existing customer base and market areas including general marking equipment manufacturers. In the same way, Pryor will continue to supply complete solutions for turnkey marking and reading applications.

Pryor’s managing director, John Tissiman, said: “We are very excited with this development which will enable us to offer multi-national customers unprecedented, global solutions in marking and vision with support at the local level. Pryor already has a world-wide reputation for the supply of top quality industrial marking equipment, ranging from hand-stamps to lasers. The acquisition of Absolute Vision Ltd, with their expertise in innovative software and vision solutions, will enable us to offer total solutions for product marking, coding, verification and reading.”

Richard Laight, co-founder of Absolute Vision, added: “We believe this union will enable our company to exploit all potential growth opportunities for our product range, particularly in international markets. We shall remain an autonomous supplier of 2D code readers, vision products and solutions.”
